what's up so with lightfall now released there is a lot of things to do and one of those things initially is to hit that 1810 power cap now a few things have changed some activities have gone away some new opportunities have Arisen and for those of you that want to take part in things like the world's first race Trials of Osiris when that comes back around and of course passively getting ready for those grand Masters when they release later on in the season today's video is gonna be super important in helping you to do that as fast and efficiently as possible so this video is going to be important just for veteran players to understand things that may have changed from the normal processes and for those of you that are new players or returning after a very long break for the lightfall expansion this video is going to explain a lot of things which will really help you out so if you do enjoy this one guys we're really trying to make a push on the channel through this lightfall expansion so any liking that you guys can do I really would appreciate as it does help out but for now that's enough of your time wasted let's get into the content so for those of you that are returning or new players or just players that are veterans but want to know the most current information there are some updates to the different floor levels of power and what do I mean by that for you new players out there so from a base standpoint when you look at your character screen in the top right and the side you are going to have a power level now this comprises of a few different things this is a gear score which is comprised from adding up the gear score of all eight of your item slots and dividing that by eight that will give you your average power score and that is what is known as your gear score you're also gonna have a plus power bonus which comes from XP from doing activities in the game Etc this doesn't influence the level of the items that you drop in game but it does constitute to adding to your overall power score which obviously in turn sees you grant access to those higher difficulty end game activities so now you understand what those power scores mean now it's important to under understand the levels of power scores what activities you'll require a power level for and how to basically start getting there so every single person regardless of whether you played last season and you've played every season every week up until now or whether you haven't played the game in six months when you launch into the lightfall expansion every piece of gear every piece of armor is all going to be 1600 for everybody across the board that is what is known as the power floor you cannot be any lower than that and that is where everybody is going to start on an even footing so actually if you've been away from the game a long time or you've just started you're actually not at any disadvantage to anybody else other than of course items that they've collected high stat armor Etc but I digress that's a different subject so everybody will be starting at the power floor of 1600 for lightfall the next thing to take note of is what is known as the soft cap the soft cap for lightfall is 1750 and what the soft cap means is that anything that you do Within game whether the items are exotic blue legendary purple whatever items you're dropping from whatever activities you are doing is going to be increasing you all the way from 1400 up to 17.50 so whatever you're doing whether it's the campaign whether you're playing Crucible doing strikes whatever you're doing in game any gear that you drop on the ground or get from rewards is gonna be adding up onto your power up until you get to that 1750 soft cap after that we then have the hard cap which is 1800 and the way to increase those extra 50 power levels is by looking for anything in your activity screen or in your destinations that says that it has Tier 1 tier 2 tier 3 powerful gear that is the only way that you can increase from 1750 up to 1800 and once you hit 1800 at the Hard cap the final power cap is the Pinnacle cap which is 1810 and if you didn't obviously realize already from there 1800 to 1810 the only way you could raise those extra 10 power levels is by doing anything in your destinations or activities tabs that say that the rewards offer Pinnacle gear so knowing the caps and what things drop the rewards that are going to get you there how do you actually go about doing that so like I said softcap 1750 1400 up to 1750 you can do whatever you want to do whatever you enjoy doing within the game that is going to get you up to that 1750 just because you're going to be dropping gear that's always going to be helpful to you at any point now as a quick disclaimer there is a shortcut to the next steps and that will revolve around whether you're going to be taking part in the lightfall campaign on the normal difficulty or whether you're going to be hopping in and going for the legendary difficulty why would you want to go for the legendary difficulty because I'm going to admit it is a hard challenge there is definitely some situations where you're going to need to know a bit about the game and have a a level of skill which lets you think outside the box a little bit and obviously think about what you're doing you build that kind of stuff but by completing the campaign in its entirety so all of the missions completed on legendary you are going to receive a set of gear at the end of doing that and completing that which is 1770. now that is going to land you right between the soft cap and the hard cap so all of the get in gear from different activities that you would have done to get your from 1400 you are foregoing all of that and going straight in with a full set of gear at 1770 this of course is a massive Time Saver if you are trying to sort of rush your power level through to do things like the day one raid and things like that because you're gaining that extra 20 on top of the soft cap and skipping all of that entirely so from that point then you're only gonna have to do tier ones twos and threes with the powerful gear rewards to get up to that 1800 hard cap and from there it'll just be going to Pinnacle rewards to get that extra 10 power to max out your Pinnacle cap by all means though if you're not interested in power leveling to get ready for the day one raid or you just want to take your time with the story absolutely you can just play the campaign on normal mode it just means that you're gonna have to do a bit more play time when you finish that to get up to that soft cap it's not a problem though guys and if that's the way you want to do it then absolutely go ahead and do that so whether you've gone through the normal campaign or whether you've gone through the legendary campaign you'll either be at 1750 or close to or 1770 and now is when you're going to start taking interest in what rewards are offered for what activities specifically like I said looking for those powerful one two and three tier items so what are you going to be able to do in order to do this well obviously we have now lost all of the weekly missions and things like that offering these kind of activities from which Queen with it no longer being the most recent expansion because of course there was a lot of that kind of stuff to do in the throne world but here is everything that you can do for tier one tier 2 and tier 3 in order to get yourself from 1750 at the soft cap up to the hard cap at 1800 so for tier ones let's start in the tower you are going to be able to get a powerful gear tier one for completing eight bounties from Zavala eight bounties from Lord Shacks eight bounties from Banshee eight bounties from The Drifter and eventually there will be some from Saint 14 as well but obviously trials doesn't normally come around until a couple the weeks after the raid so at this point that doesn't really make all that much difference there is also a tier 2 reward that you can get from Hawthorne in the tower for giving out 20 commendations commendations is the new system where when you complete an activity in the game you can reward players that you've played with for being helpful teammates for carrying through and clutching up things like that so you can get a tier 2 for doing 20 of those obviously try and leave this one though until you've done all the tier ones that are available to you because this is going to give you a higher drop than the tier ones do from Neptune once you've completed the light4 campaign you are also going to be able to get a tier 1 4 reputation gains with Nimbus and you're also going to be able to get a tier one for defeating combatants in the terminal overload as well which is another vendor that you'll unlock at the end of the game and then finally you can also get a tier 1 for completing three runs of the normal dares of Eternity activity as well on top of this guys as well as those I know there's not as many as there used to be but you can also get Prime engrams which also serve as a powerful reward as well these come randomly just from defeating enemies and completing activities and things like that what should you get one make sure that you go and decrypt it with Raul because these rewards don't scale up as the vendor rewards do so for example if you go up a few levels before turning in your eight bounties to a certain vendor that's going to increase your reward whereas if you drop a prime engram in the middle of an activity let's say that it drops at 1790 that's gonna day at 1790 regardless of whether you go up some more levels before turning that in so of course don't leave in the middle of an activity to go and do it but make sure that you do hand those in before you go ahead and hand in any more tier one rewards like I've said once you've done all your tier ones for the week on each character because you can only do the ones per character per week make sure that you then go and do that tier 2 with Hawthorne or hand in those commendations to make sure that you get that tier 2 from her as well so once you've done that for the first week especially because there are so little of these to do there's no point in wasting your Pinnacle rewards so you might as well then go ahead and go and do all of your Pinnacles on all three characters as well yes it is a little bit of a waste because of course you you're using that to get to the hard cap as opposed to getting to the Pinnacle cap but for week one there's nothing really that you can actually do about that you just want to get them done and maximize that score and that power level as high as you can I'm not gonna go through all of the Pinnacle rewards because there are quite a lot of them but you'll get them for doing night falls you'll get them for doing three Gambit matches three Crucible matches you'll get them for doing a certain amount of stuff for the new seasonal vendor in the war table in the helm you can get them for the partition hard reset some of the campaign stuff on uh neomuna you can get it for doing a weekly campaign mission etc etc there are a lot of Pinnacles around the game guys so obviously once you've finished everything that you literally can do in terms of your tier ones and stuff go ahead then and do all of your Pinnacles within the game and that will leave you at the end of week one with as high of a power score as you possibly can have now going into week two I just want to talk about Min Maxin explain what that is if you don't know already and basically the methods that you will see other people doing in order to maximize efficiency and get all three of their characters up to the maximum Pinnacle gear score as quickly as they can so basically you'll go through the entire process of what we've already discussed in the video get into the soft cap how you get to the hard cap etc etc and then what players will do is on that point where they are either at the Hard cap going for Pinnacles or just trying to just finish off that last bit to get to the a hard cap what they will do is they will start with their highest leveled character from the previous week so let's for example say that that's your warlock if your warlock is your highest gear score when you start the second week on reset you'll go through and you'll again do all of your powerful stuff or your Pinnacle stuff if that's where you're at and then you will swap those weapons over to your next character you'll do everything on them and again you'll swap to your third character and go through and do all of your activities and rewards on that character as well then what you will do the following week if you're still not near the Pinnacle cap is you'll go through and you'll do that in the reverse order so say that you finished with your Hunter on the previous week you'll start with your Hunter because they'll be the highest you'll go back to your Titan and then you'll go back finishing that week on your warlock what this means is that every time you swap over your highest weapons from your characters that will obviously raise the power level of the next character that you go on to and in sort of like a reverse pyramid you are boost in those characters effectively so I mentioned Min Maxin and for some of you you may not necessarily understand what that means and it is a little bit of a complicated thing if you are new to the game so I just want to try and break it down in as best as I can so let's say as we explained earlier on that your overall gear score which is of course your gear score all eight items divided up let's say that your overall gear score is 1800 a lot of your gear items are 1800 or 1801 or something like that and then you've got one item that's lagging behind three or four power levels essentially the way that powerful gear works is that it drops then at the level that you are overall so if you're 1800 you can drop a powerful piece of gear and that will drop at 1800 that is going to bring that up to level with everything else meaning that you get higher gains from any Pinnacle rewards that you drop because if you don't do this and you go ahead and do some Pinnacles you then drop that reward in the slot that's your lowest item which is lagging behind everything else you're actually going to lose progress because it's not taking your character further forward it's just filling in that gap which you can actually do with powerful rewards so bear that in mind guys while you your Min Maxim while you're leveling up while you're going through this power and up process that that's something that you are doing keeping an eye on your gear items making sure that if you've got any lagging behind that you go ahead and level that out by doing something with powerful rewards and even though it's not increasing your power as such it will do overall because it's leveling out that average gear score so I hope that makes sense it's quite a difficult thing to explain but if you want to obviously ask me any questions or for clarification about that make sure you leave those down in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer them I've covered everything know about this powering up process it is pretty simple once you get into the swing of things and understand it obviously someone telling you about it isn't as easy as understanding it by doing it yourself well like I said I'm happy to answer any questions that you've got.
